I am so completely sick of people—friends, family, coworkers—thinking that I am single not by choice, thinking that it seems so entirely unreasonable for a young lady such as myself to enjoy being single, thinking that I must certainly be sad, lonely, and desperately down to fuck, thinking that they must set me up with someone pronto. Ever think that the person you are setting me up with feels just as tragically misunderstood and insulted?
Shame on you. Is this not the 21st century? Leave me be. I am a happy enough person and you are making life painful and awkward.
