This song still fills me with that crestfallen splendor of unrequited love. I remember putting this on a mix to a dear friend in my way of saying, “I give up trying to get you to love me back.” In hindsight, I clearly hadn’t given up if I was making him gifts, eh? Also featured was “Simple Things” by B&S, and “These Days” by Nico. At 18, I acted like I was a washed-up, 30-something spinster. The world felt dull and over. Bahaha.
